Independent apparel manufacturer, AV3 LTD, is a young company gearing up to launch their first major collection for fall/winter 2013. AV3 is an acronym that stands for anti-virus 3 that is a conceptual metaphor based on the brands philosophy. Believing that the vast majority of consumers are ‘sick’ being imprisoned by limitations set by themselves based on their own fears. This anti-viral brand is set to cure the disease of the diagnosed ‘conformists’ and spread excellence with the world with accelerating ideas to think and act globally.
Their first collection aims to focus on ‘Post-Hype’ taking inspiration from dystopian science fiction stories that include Blade Runner (1982), Akira (1988), Matrix (1999) and Ghost in the Shell (1995). We live in a world that is driven by hype, and AV3 plans on using the hype to their fullest advantage and creating a line that translates into art that will continue to prevail even after the hype.
The FW13 collection exhibits two staggering hooded sweaters, futuristic LED-infused t-shirts, a marvelous fish-tail parka jacket and sensational paneled pants. Shot by Brandon Gilliam, directed by Kennedy Clark and Daniel Cruz this collection comes together in a style that speaks to the street wear community hoping to be recognized by their unique design and individuality. Models include Gitoo, Dutty Dylan, Sean Smith, Raymond Yook, Veronica Amajoyi, Jeff Donna Special. And a special thanks to Chani Berry, Feeks and Joa Allen.
